Six Asian teams will compete in the 2022 Asia Cup for the title. The competition will be less intense this year throughout the months of August and September. The 2020 Asia Cup in Sri Lanka has been postponed until 2022 due to an increase in the number of cases of COVID-19 in the country.
The first Asia Cup was held in Sharjah in 1984, and the next 2022 edition will be the 15th iteration of the regional competition. The Asia Cup 2022 will take place from August 27 to September 11, and will be played in the Twenty20 format.

Since its inception in 1984, the competition has grown in popularity.The most recent one-day international (ODI) tournament was held in the United Arab Emirates.
With an undefeated record, India won the Asia Cup this year as Asia’s most powerful team.This year’s Cricket World Cup Most Valuable Player was ShikharDhawan, a batsman from India. After numerous delays, the tournament will ultimately take place in the United Arab Emirates in August of 2022.
The cup pits Africa’s top five cricket squads against one another. The UAE will host both the finals and the qualifying rounds in addition to the finals. In 2022, whoever enters the Asia Cup will be greatly appreciated.
Qualification for the Asia Cup
In 2022, there will be six teams competing in the Asia Cup. Using the Council Cup Rules as a guide, five teams are selected. The ACC says that each of the five teams that play must be a member in good standing of the International Cricket Council.
The qualifiers for the Asia Cup champion will round out the field. The qualifiers will be held in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka will be the host nation. It’s set for 2022, and the two squads will face off on that date. The Eastern Region is represented by Singapore and Hong Kong, both of which are competing for a position in the finals.
On the other hand, the Western Region will be represented by Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates. Those who advance to the Asia Cup event after winning the qualifying round will be the sixth team to do so.
